Character Sheet development

Post by Peck on Sat Jun 11, 2011 2:06 am

Now that we're getting into the meat and potatoes of the summer and online variation of the game, how are we going to handle creating new characters and the like? I heard something about online character sheets, any idea how that is progressing?

I ask because I wanted to make a character more dedicated to researching and upgrading items.

Ok, just tested here a possible way to create a character sheet using google docs (just a spread sheet) and also download it as a PDF to print out if need be.

Ok, just put up the top section of the character sheet. Just wanted to get people's opinions on how it is. You can edit it online to add pernament things and print it out, or just print out a base copy and fill it out by hand.

The spreadsheet is a bit better now, but still working on it. I'll see if I can't find a better format as well.

Here we go.. going to have people start off with a form, which will go to a spreadsheet to make a pdf (if I can, still messing around with it.)

Edited: Removed old stuff.

unless I am missing something that last form had like 6 areas to fillout

If you have a instant messanger I can send you my word version of the character sheet and you can base it off that.

Well, I was thinking it'd be more of a base version.. create a base sheet that a person can reprint no problem. But I may change that

I can give you a word document that I can copy paste on the forum with basic info and vice fversa copy it back onto a word document. What good does this do jeff D:<

I'll see what I can do, I'll take a different approach.

I'll work on a version based off of what we are doing now, unless someone knows of something I should change. For example, the credit system.

OK!! I have a good sheet so far, seems to print out ok on my printer as well. Can anyone test this out for me as well?

Edit: Maybe merge this thread with dom's word sheet thread? Removed old file.

Just took a look. Everything checks out. Once I get the mechanics down I'll send you and Kaz the 2.0 sheets to work on ahead of time.

Just a few questions about making this a bit easier.. should I make drop down boxes for the gender and race? Or are we going to have "mutt" races?

If so, I could try to see if I can set it so that if one person selects a race, the movement, base melee, as well as mind, sense, and sneak/hide abilites would be filled in.

There are two places for RP but no place for social EXP. I would say no to dropboxes just because it is easier on you and the fact that ya never know whats gonna happen in rp.

Ok here's my example so far for the updates of 2.0 that I know of. No more dropdowns, etc. I left the grid lines on.
